Frequently Asked Questions

Do you repair shades you didn't install?

Yes — most of our repair calls are on shades installed by someone else. We service every major brand (Somfy, Hunter Douglas, Lutron, Norman, Rollease, Graber, Levolor) regardless of who originally installed them. Bring us the brand name or a photo of the headrail label and we can usually identify parts before the visit.

How fast can you come out?

We offer same-week diagnostic appointments across NYC, with same-day or next-day slots when our calendar allows. Most repairs are completed in two visits: a diagnostic to confirm the issue and source the correct part, then a return visit to install.

Do you service motorized shades from any brand?

Yes. We're factory-trained on Somfy and Hunter Douglas and regularly service Lutron, Norman, Rollease Automate, Graber, and Coulisse motors. If your motor is discontinued, we'll either source a compatible replacement or retrofit a modern motor into your existing tube.

How much does window treatment repair cost in NYC?

Every job is different, so we quote after a quick diagnostic visit rather than guessing on the phone. You get a fixed price before any work starts — no surprise charges, and the diagnostic fee is credited toward the repair if you proceed.

Can motorized shades be repaired, or do I need to replace?

Most motorized shade issues are repairable. Programming, limit recalibration, remote pairing, and battery replacement resolve a large share of calls without any parts. When the motor itself has failed, replacing just the motor is almost always cheaper than replacing the whole shade.

Do you service high-rise buildings and co-ops?

Yes. We're fully insured, carry $2M general liability, and file COIs with NYC buildings on request. We work in luxury condos, pre-war co-ops, and commercial towers and follow building rules for service elevator booking, work hours, and floor protection.

Why is my shade stuck halfway and won't move?

A shade stuck mid-travel usually has a limit setting issue (motorized) or a worn cord lock (manual). For motorized shades, try replacing batteries or power cycling the motor. For manual shades, try pulling the cord at a 45-degree angle to re-engage the lock. If it persists, a technician can recalibrate or replace the mechanism quickly.
